We recently went to see the incredible Coldplay tribute Viva La Coldplay live at Heswall Hall and what a gig it was! Some people are sceptical about tribute acts — indeed they can either be catastrophic or sensational — but Viva La Coldplay were the definitely the next best thing to seeing the legendary band perform live!

The Heswall venue is attracting more and more great music acts, largely thanks to ‘The Big Room’ — a live entertainment brand that has made some fantastic bookings there in recent times, including some hilarious comedy nights. Another successful sell out event, this gig was a superb showcase!

On the night, we were treated to all the Coldplay classics from the early years to today. From Yellow to Fix You to In My Place, Viva La Coldplay covered each track to perfection with that distinct Chris Martin sound. The North West based tribute act have been doing great things internationally, both at smaller pubs and venues and at huge festivals, and it was clear to see why they’ve done so well for over 8 years.

It was also great to see a community venue ran by volunteers doing so well with a sell out event — a quality booking and a great set up!
