Back in the UK, my local dentist told me that I had receding gums but as I hadn’t been for 8 years they were full and couldn’t help me. I visited Antalya in June 2022 courtesy of Precious Dental — a dental tourism agency approved by the Turkish government who fly people from the UK over to get their teeth done in their clinics. Following a free consultation, I went over to have my loose tooth extracted and replaced with a bridge alongside a full set of top and bottom crowns.

Of course, I have had people ask me what I would do if there were any issues in the future as UK dentists won’t touch me now but my answer is simple. If I need any dental work in the future I will return to Turkey. Flights are cheap enough, I love Antalya and I know some great clinics out there! If I ever need any replacement crowns or even full implants in the future, I’ll be going to Turkey.

My dental work in Turkey didn’t have me in agony like the UK media reports. It took a little while to adjust to my new crowns and they were sensitive for a while but they soon bedded in and now they just feel like my old teeth — only much better looking!
