A ‘life-changing’ event that brings together hundreds of women returns to North Wales this July! What began as a small circle of women gathered in a field, The Great Goddess Gathering has grown into one of the UK’s most celebrated women’s wellbeing events and has just been nominated for a BBC Make A Difference Award.

Held on the ancient Celtic lands of North Wales along the River Dee, where the goddess Aerfen was once honoured in story and song, The Great Goddess Gathering has become a beacon for women seeking connection, healing, empowerment and community. Now in its 8th year, the concept has transformed the lives of thousands of women who have attended.

This year’s event takes place from 9th-13th July in Ty Isa and, remarkably, still costs just £275 (last few tickets) — including camping and access to an extensive programme over the four days. Women are invited to immerse themselves in workshops, ceremonies, live music, healing practices, talks, wellness experiences and community spaces designed to support personal growth and authentic connection.

Internationally renowned artists such as Lubiana and Nessi Gomes have joined the line-up alongside an array of talented musicians, wisdom keepers, facilitators and healers sharing their gifts. From a humble gathering of just 25 women into a four-day transformational festival attracting hundreds of women from across the UK and around the world, The Great Goddess Gathering 2026 is set to be the biggest yet.

Liverpool-based medicine musician, healer and women’s facilitator Aimee Lea Frances explains: “The Great Goddess Gathering began as a seed of a dream on the coast of Thailand in 2019 with my sister Julia Tobin. After hosting an eight-day Inner Goddess retreat, I conceived a vision of bringing women together on sacred land to reconnect with themselves, nature and the wisdom of the feminine.”

That idea became the catalyst for something extraordinary. Later that same year, the first Great Goddess Gathering was born on the banks of Hell’s Mouth in North Wales. There was no detailed business plan, no major marketing campaign and no certainty about what the event might become. Instead, there was trust and a deep knowing that women needed spaces where they could truly belong.

With the support of her sisters and a small circle of women, Aimee welcomed just 25 attendees to that first gathering. Blessed with a heatwave and held by the beauty of the Welsh landscape, something magical unfolded. Women gathered around fires, sang prayers to the waters, shared stories, celebrated their bodies and began letting go of old narratives of comparison, separation and inadequacy.

The impact was immediate. But what happened next surprised even the organisers. Women returned home transformed by their experiences and began sharing those stories with friends, sisters, daughters and communities. One woman became ten. Ten became fifty. Fifty became hundreds. Year after year the circle expanded.

Today, The Great Goddess Gathering welcomes around 400 women from across the globe. Attendees travel from England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, Europe, the United States, Bali and beyond to be part of the experience. Yet despite the larger crowds and growing reputation, Aimee says the heart of the gathering has never changed.

“It is not about performance or perfection. It is about remembrance,” she explains. “At its core, The Great Goddess Gathering is about creating safe, trauma-aware spaces where women can reconnect with who they truly are. It is about giving women permission to be seen, to use their voice, to celebrate themselves and to remember they do not have to navigate life alone.”

That message is perhaps even more powerful when viewed through the lens of Aimee’s own journey. Years before founding the gathering, Aimee endured excruciating pain caused by adenomyosis and ultimately made the heartbreaking decision to undergo a hysterectomy at the age of 27. What could have broken her instead became the catalyst for profound healing, self-discovery and purpose.

Through spirituality, mindfulness, music and embodiment practices, she transformed her own suffering into a mission to help others reconnect with themselves and their power and has since travelled the world. That spirit of transformation continues to define The Great Goddess Gathering today and for many, the gathering has become more than an annual event; it has become a community and a movement.

Over the years, organisers have witnessed countless stories of women arriving burdened by grief, trauma, burnout or disconnection, only to leave with renewed confidence, purpose and hope. Profound testimonials have flooded in following the events — making Aimee and the team even more determined to grow the concept.

One woman said: “Honestly the last GGG has been life changing, something in me shifted and its had a ripple effect of my family and friends. I really come in touch with my gifts and broke free from the things that were holding me back. I love myself in a whole new way. It has been so warming and heart lifting to walk the land with sisters from all over the country and sit in space share vulnerability and simply just be.”

Another said: “I was able to start healing my mother wound, and kiss the forehead of my younger self in Aimee’s workshop. The adjustment back to busy life is easier with all I have learnt to bolster me when I am weakened by the pressure. I really cannot express how deeply moved I have been at GGG. Thank-you eternally and see you next time! Thank-you, Thank-you all involved. It’s like 10 years of therapy in 4 days.”
