A couple of months ago, La Vida Liverpool brought you a feature on the exciting new food bazaar at Liverpool’s iconic Grand Central Hotel on Renshaw Street. Now, we bring you the latest development from the venue — a pop up artisan market called Makers In The Spotlight. The project aims to showcase small, creative, passion driven businesses that offer bespoke, artisan products such as clothes, jewellery and ornaments.
The launch of this quirky creation is Saturday 18th August from 12pm until 5pm and will feature various stalls from the likes of Ruby Sparrow (bohemian clothes and jewellery), Cosmic Gypsy (tarot and angel card readings), Silver Sunstone Jewellery (classic jewellery pieces), The Liverpool Barkery (artisan dog treats), Judy O’Brien Illustrations, The Draw of the Void (mystical polymer ornaments), Bobbles and Clips (artisan hair accessories) and Fashion To Compassion (vintage clothing with all proceeds towards helping refugees).
Whether you’re after something retro, vintage or chic, or simply fancy a browse, Makers In The Spotlight promises to be an ideal event for fashion and art lovers — and it’s free to attend! The mini market will be situated within the food bazaar area of the large venue and the Barcelona Bar — so there’s plenty of opportunity to sample the various pop up food stalls available too. A fusion of fashion, art, creativity and food, the showcase will offer something for everyone whilst promoting some fantastic small businesses.
Speaking to La Vida Liverpool, Makers In The Spotlight organiser Laura Cotter of North Shore Productions said: “The Grand Central space is amazing and it’s great that they’ve kept all the original features from the Quiggins days. What we’re doing with this project is bringing back a bit of that market concept that everyone loved, whilst promoting independents and creatives and helping them to showcase their work. What’s great about this is it’s located withing the food bazaar so there’s loads of amazing food for shoppers to try too! I’m really looking forward to Saturday’s launch and to host these events regularly!”
